Friday or Monday?

Wow, I made it. I just finished my first 5 day week of actual teaching since December 9th. Now my reward is a 3 day weekend. As I think about 3 day weekends I began to wonder which is better to have off, a Friday or a Monday? I personally like Mondays. Seems like all National holidays revolve around a Monday: Memorial, President, Labor, MLK. On the other hand if I were taking a sick/personal day I like having Fridays off. To me it is easier to put in 4 straight days and get off on a Friday than be sick on a Monday and then still have to complete the 4 day week.

Do you ever notice that shortened weeks sometimes are harder to complete than full weeks. I think it messes up the routine.

That said, are you a Friday or Monday off type of person?

Church staff wise, Friday (except it was already my day off).

I would much rather have a Monday off than a Friday. But on our school schedule it never works that way. We actually always end up at work on holidays.

I like a Monday off. Then all week you feel like it's a day earlier than it really is and it's a nice surprise when it's Friday again already. Happy MLK Day!

I'm a Friday off kinds airl. i like working and then its like a bonus that you dont have to go on Friday. Having a Monday off throws the whole week out of kilter. I also FIRMLY agree that short weeks are harder than long ones. there's something soothing about routine...

Reply to BillyV: But you had to work Sundays, I mean worship. You already had off Friday and Saturday so I guess your day off would be Thursday??? Or your normal day off like Tuesday.

Reply to wiccachicky: Do you instruct all 5 days?

Repy to PIGS: With Monday off I won't be as stressed having to be at church from 8:30-noon and then back at 5:30 for a 2 hour training. Gives me one more day to do my lesson plans.

Reply to txgrl: I think either day off is a good day. OR even a staff development day without kids is kind of okay.

Definitely Friday. If you have Monday off, it throws off the week as you feel like you are playing catch-up the rest of the time. Moot point for me - Offspring, Spouse and I all have work/school today.
