Down 4

If my eyes aren't deceiving me it appears that I've lost 4 pounds in six days. We've got a cheap scale with the tiny lines. No high tech digital here. I would love to lose another 4 this week and my plan is to implement the treadmill into my daily routine. This will probably happen in the evenings after the kids go to bed. I may get 30 minutes in right after school if my youngest is still napping. Treadmills can be dangerous things around kids.

So my plan is to stay on the low calorie plan and now ease into a light cardio plan. In our bible study class today we looked at Romans 12 and it says to "be transformed by the renewing of your mind...." I think this applies to lifestyle habits such as dieting. It will take a little sacrifice and planning to avoid falling back into the old traps: fried foods, quick drive thru breakfasts, chips, etc. Eventually I'd love to crave the orange instead of the Lays.

Seven days to the positive right now. Lunch was the hardest today as I ate about 1/2 of a small stromboli. No telling what the calorie count on that was. Other than that I had 270 calories for breakfast and maybe 400 the rest of the day. The tough thing for me on weekends is that I choose a diet Pepsi instead of a bottled water.

Go me!

I am so glad you are doing the low calorie thing instead of some fad diet. Remember to build some cheat meals in (maybe two for the first few weeks and then one and then make the one healthier as you go along. Make sure you mix in some fruits and veggies into this diet.

I second Billy v. I am very impressed! We are surrounded by junk food all the time, it seems.

Reply to billy v: Pretty easy to count calories. I had already created my own FAST FOOD Calorie chart with all the possible places I'd visit and what I'd most likely order.

reply to pigs: Just need 4 successful lunches this week. Lunch meat special with low calorie bread and those light chips. Not bad really.

Good for you on losing 4 pounds. Whatever you are doing seems to be working for you so keep it up.

romans 12 also says to be a living sacrifice and to show gratitude to God for what He has done for you. that could mean treating your body that He has given you in an appropriate manner. a "total renewing of the mind" comes from the Holy Spirit. ask and see what happens. think of the other ways a "renewing of the mind" could do for you and for the rest of us.

Reply to deanna: Keep it up and add some work outs if I want to keep up the pace.

Reply to anonymous: When I do lose this weight I will testify that only thru faith and help of the Holy Spirit was I successful.

I am impressed-- and jealous! I cut out my Pepsi addiction, went to weight watchers, started a new martial art, ran 2 5KS this year for breast cancer, and I lost 20 pounds in the first four months and then NUTTIN'!

Yay YOU!
